Installation

Pre-installation Analysis - A survey and analysis are first completed to:

  • Identify system modifications and enhancements necessary to meet your goals.
  • Define procedural and work assignment changes that will result from system implementation. This also identifies the level and type of training to be given to different staff groups.
  • Identify and categorize system codes and their relation to existing user codes.
  • Identify and adapt to the hardware configuration and operating environment.

These objectives are accomplished through a combination of questionnaire style requests for information and on-site work sessions. The result is a document outlining the custom installation features, enhancements, and expansions to be made to the basic system.

Demonstration System Implementation
Implementing a demonstration version of the basic system during the pre-implementation process:

  • Establishes and proves working directories, drive mappings, and search paths.
  • Tests and proves interfaces with printers.
  •  Proves compatibility the operating system and local area network.

The demonstration version of the system also provides an important tool for pre-installation work sessions.

Develop Modifications and Enhancements
As the pre-installation process is completed, system modifications, expansions, and enhancements are made. The result becomes the initial production version of the system.

Installation and Testing
Installation and testing of the customized system entails placing the system in the live production environment. Included is interfacing with the appropriate operating environment. It also includes a full load test and demonstration of system response times.

Implementation Follow-up
Once the system has been in operation for a period of time, an implementation follow-up process will:

  • Implement additional system features or options identified based on initial use of the system.
  • Provide any special training required based on the experience gained during initial operation.
  • Identify desired future system enhancements and expansions.
