Technical Information

CityLaw and CountyLaw are Windows Client/Server based systems. Windows provides a generally accepted and easy to use graphical interface. All standard Windows functionality has been incorporated into CityLaw and CountyLaw . Client/Server architecture provides a highly effective and dependable database management tool.

The computer configuration and network configuration necessary to support CityLaw and CountyLaw is outline below.

Development Language
Cycom's software products have been designed to take advantage of some of the most advanced technology available. CityLaw has been created using Delphi Client/Server Suite, which is a native code compiler based on the Object Pascal language. Delphi Client/Server Suite has high performance access to many popular database platforms.  A .NET version of CityLaw and CountyLaw is currently under development.

Desktop Operating System
Windows 98, Windows NT, Windows 2000, or Windows XP is required. The system also requires MDAC (Microsoft Data Access Components) version 2.6 or later. These Microsoft data access routines are included in newer versions of the Windows operating system.

Desktop Requirements
A minimum of 600 MHz Pentium processors, or equivalent, with 256 megabytes of memory. Desktop systems should have 30 megabytes of disk space available.

Network Support
The system is compatible with most network operating systems including Novell Netware, NT Server, Windows 2000 Server and Windows 2003 Server.

Client/Server Implementation
Systems can be implemented using Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle. Choice of database managers is dependant on such factors as number of users, size of the database, and whether the database server is shared among other applications.

Remote Access
Remote access is required for software maintenance and support. Cycom can use a VPN connection, Microsoft Netmeeting,  pcAnywhere communications software, or other approved means of connection. Specific arrangements will be made prior to any remote administration activity by Cycom.
